90 Days of Prayer – Day Forty Four

“An All Powerful Friend”

John 14:16
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever…”

.

The main component to all effective praying is the presence of the Holy Spirit. Paul encouraged the Ephesian Church to “pray in the Spirit on all occasions;” which of course means to be guided, inspired and empowered by the Holy Spirit in prayer and in life.
.
The Church saw fellowship with the Holy Spirit as the most valuable part of their life. They would not have had the power they did without His presence in and upon them. Paul instructed them to be filled with the Spirit and to be careful not to offend Him by anything they did were thinking saying or doing.
.
The Holy Spirit is not only God, He is also your helper and your friend. He will speak to you as you begin to fellowship with Him. He will fill you with wisdom and understanding as He unfolds the character and purpose of Christ to you in your times together.

By becoming familiar with the Holy Spirit and following His prompting and His counsel, you will experience some amazing benefits of His friendship. He will fill you with Joy as you spend time in His Presence. He will be working in your life transforming your character and renewing your thinking as you enjoy His friendship and cooperate with Him.
.
You will experience a greater depth of insight when you read the Scriptures. You will be prompted when to speak to someone about the message of Christ. The Holy Spirit will anoint you as you speak and His gifts will begin to flow through you when they are needed.
He will teach you how to use the Word of God applying it correctly.
.
These are just a few of the benefits of fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Please keep in mind that if you want His help in your daily life you will need to develop and intimate relationship with Him. To have this kind of friendship with the Holy Spirit you will need to pray intentionally and meet with Him regularly.
.
So begin developing a close relationship with the Holy Spirit; let Him fill you with His joy, let His Presence rest upon you continually, and Be Encouraged.
