“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.”
You have a guide who partners with you in prayer. Think of it, Jesus sent the Spirit to guide you into all truth, reveal to you what God is thinking, and show you things come. The guidance and instructions of the Holy Spirit has changed the dynamics of your prayer life, and of your life in general.
The Spirit helps you to pray in line with God’s will. He dwells within you and is constantly teaching, guiding and prompting you in line with God’s desire for you and for others. Prayer becomes a powerful tool to you, when you are following the Holy Spirit. Following His gentle promptings will strengthen your spirit, enlighten your mind, and cause your conscience to become sensitive to God when He speaks.
Your heart will gradually become attuned to God’s voice throughout the day. As you become accustomed to listening and cooperating with the Spirit of God, you will also mature in the art of intercession.
You will begin to echo God’s desires on the earth as the Spirit helps you to know what you should be praying for. He begins making intercession for you and through you “with groanings which cannot be articulated in regular speech” (Romans 8:26). This opens a whole new dimension to you in Spirit led living.
So begin to train yourself to cooperate with the Holy Spirit, allow Him to lead you in life and in prayer, stand in awe of His love and His power, and Be Encouraged. – JSP
