BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE

“What lies behind us, and what lies before us, are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Every one of us possesses the capacity for success beyond our current awareness. Your potential is seen in your undeveloped giftedness; discovering and developing it is self-empowering.

Greater self-awareness will drive your commitment to intentionally improve yourself and increase your effectiveness in all you do.

Everyone Has It Not Everyone Uses It

Our gifts and talents differ from others; how we see and use them is ideally suited for our life’s purpose. Lifelong learners challenge the current limits of their giftedness to go to the next level and teach their teams to do the same.

You’ll face many challenges on your journey to becoming your best self. It will take time and effort to meet and overcome each challenge, but your potential for growth increases with each win. With patience and some old fashion mental toughness, you will rise to each occasion and continue growing and improving.

Some old fashion mental toughness will serve you well on the road to being the best version of yourself.

  • Never allow obstacles and disadvantages to discourage you.
  • Stay at the table, continuing to play the cards you’re dealt,
  • Win or lose, your potential for growth increases when you learn something from each experience.

How well you handle yourself will determine how well you’ll live your life, directly impacting your growth.

Your daily habits determine your degree of success. We cannot blame others for our lack of improvement or failure to seize opportunities. Like cards, no one else is responsible for how well we play our hand.

Be Intentionally Specific About Everything

We must intentionally develop our potential; King Solomon taught his sons, “Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and let all your ways be established.”

Think through your choices of books you read, the friends you keep, how you spend your time, and so on. Each of these will take you closer or further away from being the best version of yourself.

Why I’m a Lifelong Learner

I cannot overstate the value of being a lifelong learner. I’m reminded of Socrates’ quote, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Personal growth is all about self-discovery, assessing and improving that which we find within ourselves in the light of our purpose.

In Closing, Over the years, I’ve thought much about legacy. We have only one life to live, and we owe it to ourselves and those around us to give them the best of ourselves.

People who leave the most inspiring legacies continuously draw from the well within them, pouring out all they have until they leave this life, having given their all. Discovering, developing, and utilizing all we’ve been given leaves our world much richer for having us in it.

So, I encourage you to embark on the journey of becoming the best version of yourself every day for the rest of your life.
