90 Days of Prayer – Day Seventeen “Faith to Forgive”

90 Days of Prayer – Day Seventeen

Faith to Forgive

Mark 11:24-25
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
.
When most of us read this passage we tend to only focus on the fact that God will grant us what we believe for. Although this is true, we should include verse 25 in faith as well. Forgiveness is the key to keeping genuine faith alive and active in our life.
.
Anyone who desires to walk in love must walk in forgiveness as well. Love and forgiveness go hand in hand. Paul instructed the Ephesian believers to “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Eph. 4:32. Forgiveness is vital to faith and practice in following Christ. Forgiving others keeps animosity and resentment from taking hold of our heart. Forgiveness keeps our conscience clean, and the lines of communication between God and us clear.
.
Knowing that our asking in faith must be specific, and free of any doubt in our heart; let us be very specific in asking for forgiveness for ourselves and for others. Using our faith to clear away all things that can hinder our relationship with God and people, will cause us to have the assurance that what we have asked for will be ours.

Let’s practice the faith building habit of forgiveness as a part of our daily time alone with God.

Let’s Be Encouraged!
