THE GOD WHO WALKS WITH YOU

I began my walk with God in 1978, and what an amazing journey it’s been. I began to Journal my daily walk with Jesus in October of 1980.

The pages of my journals tell the story of the God who has walked with me (as undeserving as I am), but then again isn’t that grace?

As I from time to time revisit the pages of past entries I see God’s Presence with me every step of my journey. In these days of doubt and unbelief, my Journaling has taught me a valuable lesson about God’s abiding Presence;

“The person with a history of verified factual experience, is never at the mercy of a person with an argument.”

In Exodus 13:21-22 we read of the experience of ancient Israel, “By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.

Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.”

We can see from this narrative that God’s Presence was with his people throughout their journey through the wilderness. God’s abiding Presence hovers over the Tabernacle in the form of a pillar of cloud guiding them by day, and a pillar of fire providing light as they travelled by night.

This daily supernatural occurrence was the norm for God’s people.  One cannot overstate what it meant to have God himself as the people’s Divine escort throughout their journey.

Here we see the blessing of God’s abiding Presence, Notice how following God’s spoken and written instructions kept the people in fellowship with Him,

This awareness of God’s abiding Presence and adherence to his word, is still the standard for his people today. In John 15:1-10 Jesus reiterates this twofold blessing of adherence to God’s word and his abiding Presence.

Settle it in your heart and mind that God is always with you whether you feel Him or not. His Spirit dwells with in you; you are always before His face the moment you speak with Him.

Be conscious of Christ’s abiding Presence, make the simple instructions of His word the foundation of your life. Be aware that God is intimately aware of you twenty four hours a day.

Be at rest in His Presence, confident in His word, secure in His love. Be courageous in Prayer, and Be Encouraged. -JSP
