Complicating God’s love story

Paul’s great love prayer for the Church at Ephesus; “For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every familyfn in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21

Paul’s prayer is all about continuing the restoration of God’s original intent of life in community. Demonstrating Genesis 1:26-28 let’s our light shine in the darkness of wayward society who knows little about life in community as God designed it, and next to nothing about His love.

Be rooted and grounded in the love of Christ gives us the proper perspective on life the way God intended us to live it. Being mindful of the vastness of God’s love the Church is to demonstrate to the world how to live and govern planet earth in community.

So how did we get so far from God’s simple directions?

In Genesis 1:26-28 We see God’s original intent for humanity and our basic responsibility to govern in community to steward earth’s resources.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Being made in God’s image, humanity is designed to govern ourselves in community under God’s guidance to steward the resources of planet earth.

After the fall humanity has disregarded God’s guidance and chose to rule over one another to acquire as much of earth’s resources as possible for ourselves.

Hence, the need for the Redeemer. …just a thought – JSP
