Peter writes, that God has “given us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” 2 Peter 1:4
When people control their thoughts they master their passions. It’s been wisely stated that our lifestyles are the product of what we continously think about. How important it is to make God’s Word the lamp to our feet and the light to our path.
Paul the Apostle instructs, “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:6
Imagine a society that has reverence for God instead of being fearful of each other, and hated evil instead of those who think differently. Self-control as God defines it begins with the pursuit of moral excellence. Regardless of personal faith convictions, It’s only when society pursues moral excellence, that it begins to contribute Intelligent solutions that work for everyone, instead of the current group-think that marginalizes and divides us. The only hope for society is to Pursue Moral Excellence.
