Truth Revealed

Truth Revealed

Psalm 119:130
“The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”

Here is a statement about the amazing power of God’s word to shed light on any mystery, even the simplest soul will gain understanding in the Light of God’s word revealed. The Hebrew word rendered “unfolding” is pethach, which means an “opening,” “entrance,” or “doorway.” Verse 130 can be accurately rendered; “The uncovering of your words illuminates, giving discernment to the simple.”

Ushered into God’s Presence

Many times this word pethach is referring to the entrance way of a tent. We’re told that it’s used more than forty times when referring to the Tent of Meeting, which is where the manifest Presence of God resided.  We can safely say that by the very act of the Holy Spirit revealing truth, He’s illuminated for us an entrance into the supernatural realm of God’s Presence, where perfect eternal truth is found. We’ve been given grace to enter in measure to God’s thoughts behind that particular Scripture.

God’s word will illuminate the darkest recesses of any heart opened to His voice.  God’s word revealed sharpens the mind, strengthens the soul, and transforms the character of anyone who’ll take the time to prayerfully meditate on it and practice it. To arrive at the intention for which the biblical writers were inspired to write what they did, we must have the Holy Spirit who originally inspired them, to unfold those words; allowing us to gain entry into the very intentions of God’s heart on the matter.

Truth Revealed

Paul explained this truth to the Church at Corinth when he wrote; “However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him—these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.” ( 1 Corinthians 2:9-12)

All power and revealed truth in prayer comes from God’s Presence and His Word when He speaks it.  His will for you and I has already been revealed to us by the Holy Spirit through the unfolding of His written word; this is the primary way God speaks to His people.  If we will take the time to learn how to prayerfully seek God’s intention behind any passage of Scripture, then apply that word properly, our lives will be completely transformed by God’s power inherent within that truth. The very power of God is always present in the words He speaks.

Rightly Handling the Truth

It’s all in how we handle what God by His Spirit, has revealed to us through His word, that builds our faith and changes our life. I cannot overemphasize the importance of handling God’s Word accurately. This will guard the Church from erroneous ideas about God’s redemptive plan.  Paul taught this to Timothy when he wrote; “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth”(2 Timothy 2:15). Once we have it firmly anchored in our heart that it’s God Himself speaking to us through the written word, our entire being will become flooded with the genuine light of understanding.

So, spend some time in God’s presence waiting for light from Heaven. Allow the unfolding of His word to fill your heart and illuminate mind. Use what He speaks to you as part of your conversations with Him on the matter.  Your faith will begin to grow as the Holy Spirit unfolds God’s word to you. Utilize this privileged entryway into the supernatural realm of God’s truth.

Seek God intentionally, prayerfully study His Word purposely, Be eager to hear what He will reveal to you, and Be Encouraged. -JSP
