Psalm 95:6
“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;”
Here the Psalmist invites God’s family to come together and bow down in worship before the “Lord our Maker.” He’s overwhelmed by the thoughts of such a privilege to be called by God to worship and to walk with Him, to experience His Presence His love and His grace.
God calls you to know Him as the Lover of your soul. You too are invited to come and bow down in worship. Let God so overwhelm you by His love for you that your only response will be to pour out your heart to Him in song.
I have often taught people that worship is simply prayer in song. The blessings of Holy Spirit inspired praying can be found in learning to discern the movements within your own heart and simply follow. Deep within your heart is where the Spirit moves you toward God.
Following the gentle promptings of the Spirit in worship will cause everything within you to become sensitive to the tangible Presence of the Living God as He draws near to you. You will find that the longings of your heart are satisfied when you hear the sound of His voice speaking directly to you.
The atmosphere becomes charged with the Presence of God as the Church comes together in worship with one heart and one mind to magnify the King of Kings. A sacred reverence and awe seems to sweep over the people gathered together seeking the face of God; being drawn to His presence by the power of united worship focused on Him alone.
This must have been the experience of God’s people at the dedication of the Temple as recorded in 2 Chronicles 5:13-14; “The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever.” Then the temple of the LORD was filled with the cloud, and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the temple of God.”
So come together and bow down to worship the Lord your maker. He will draw near to you as you draw near to Him in song. God will overwhelm you in His Presence, lift you in His love, satisfy the deepest longings of your heart, and you will Be Encouraged. -JSP
