Practice God’s Word with Confidence

“Practice God’s Word with Confidence”

Matthew 7:24-25

24Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
.
Jesus makes this statement as the summation of his famous Sermon on the Mount. In this context he is saying that practicing his word as a lifestyle brings great stability into your life. A lifestyle of thinking, speaking, and practicing God’s Word is why “believing” appears as a verb. God’s Word is a call to action. Action is a demonstration of our Faith, believing is acting on the Word of God before we see Him doing anything.
.
Believing with your heart will cause you to speak and act on God’s Word before you see any demonstrations of His power. Having the faith of God downloaded into your heart will motivate you to pray and proclaim things before God does them. Search the Scriptures and see how often people followed a word from God before any sign of His power was ever seen. They simply took God at His word and acted on it. This is how Abraham lived and became God’s friend.
.
Living a believing lifestyle is much more than having an emotional attachment to God’s Word; it is a call to action completely surrendered to the confidence that all things will turn out exactly as your Heavenly Father has promised you. So go ahead and surrender to the lordship of Christ. Surrender your mind to the wisdom and power God’s Word. Surrender to the will of God, by praying and living according to His Word.
.
Practice this lifestyle of praying and living by faith in God, and Be Encouraged!
