Colossians 4:12
“Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.”

Paul mentions some of his co-workers in the expansion of the kingdom of God, and how some of them have proved to be a comfort to him. He names Epaphras as a servant of Christ Jesus who was engaged in earnestly praying for believers in three cities Colossae, Laodicea, and Hierapolis.

Epaphras appears to be an intercessor with a great desire to see the Churches in those cities mature in Christ, and increase God’s Kingdom influence throughout the region. Epaphras is mentioned in Colossians 1:7 as well as Philemon 1:23. He was a highly valued worker in the Kingdom of God as genuine people of prayer tend to be.

Intercession is the lifestyle of all believers. How could anyone claim to be following Christ and not be a person of prayer? As you mature in your walk with God you cannot help but to become as passionate as He is for the welfare of His people, and for world redemption.

Intercession as a lifestyle drives intimacy with Christ, strengthens you in spirit and mind, and releases the Holy Spirit’s power in and through your life. You become a more productive, selfless, humble person. Holiness and love are worked into your character, and you become an awful weapon in the hands of God through genuine intercession.

Follow the example of Epaphras and become a person who prevails in prayer for others. Enjoy the adventure and the rewards of advancing God’s kingdom influence on the earth through intercession.

Defeat the plans of the enemy at every turn and disrupt the kingdom of darkness through your praying partnership with God. Be an active participator in God’s eternal plan; see His Church carry out that plan on earth as it is in heaven. Be active in the kingdom, Be passionate about God’s work, cover the earth with your prayers and Be Encouraged. – JSP
